Road Trip to Cheekwood Gardens

A few weeks ago a few of us from our garden group took a road trip to Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville. There were wonderful displays of tulips blooming all over the grounds.  The weather actually behaved itself warming up perfectly.  We had lunch in the cute little restaurant on the grounds and took pictures as we walked along the paths.
Beautiful displays of tulips everywhere

Time for a minute rest

A great display of bamboo art

Check this out....you should have seen all the bees buzzing around

My Thoughts and Prayers

This morning I want to send out my thoughts and prayers to those in the path of these terrible storms.  We here in middle Tennessee are also expecting bad weather today and tomorrow.  I pray for everyone's safety.  Guess this will be a good time for me to again play catch up on my orders and start thinking about new projects and classes for this summer and fall.  Take care everyone.....joanna

Fun Class Taught by Gail

Last month my friend and fellow crafter came to my studio to teach a quick and fun class. We made a child's placemat with chalkboard fabric.  So now on my blog I will be offering them for sale. Each one has a pocket to hold a box of chalk. See Primitive Needfulls  for more information.

I'm Back........Did you miss me?

Hi Everyone, I'm back......Sorry I've been away for so long.  Life just took over and got me so busy.  I think my last posting was in January when we went to Tampa, Florida to the big RV Show.  Well the show was wonderful, but the weather did not cooperate.  It was extremely cold and windy.  I did hook up with a long time friend from work and her husband and handsome son. We all went out to dinner and it was wonderful seeing her.  After a week in Tampa we headed to Red Bay, AL to have work done on Little Red. Again there it got even colder. One night our water hoses froze and then our water pump died.  Good thing we were there when it happened.  We spent almost a week there and I did get to sew for a while.  Then we headed home.  Due to the show we had at home we had to spend the night in Nashville to make sure our roads were clear enough to drive.  Well that turned out to be a very expensive stay over.  We went shopping to JoAnn Fabrics and then Bed, Bath and Beyond.  It was great getting home, but as you know the cold just continued until just the last week or so.

So here I am home and still getting orders (thanks everyone) and enjoying working at my leisure.  I am almost caught up with purse orders and will probably have an endless table runner order from my friend June.  No complaints there......

We went to a Tiffin, RV Rally 2 weeks ago in Pigeon Forge.  About 90 Motorhomes were there.  It was great. Loved meeting all the Tiffin owners from all over the country.  We had pot luck dinners, pancake breakfast, tours of some of the motorhomes and our dogs met all kinds of new 4 legged friends.  The weather was pretty good.  I also hit my new favorite Quilt Shop, The Cherry Pit.
If you are ever in the area you may want to stop in and see all the beautiful fabric they have.  We had a yard sale while there and I brought some of the items I make and made a few sales. Not bad. I also traded a purse for a cute Welcome Sign painted by one of the ladies there.  It will hang in our front window now whenever we are parked.

Tomorrow I will start updating my photos of new items for sale.  I am sad to say that Lorettas Sewin Room Closed in January and all my stock is now at my home.  So anyone that is local and needs some gifts can contact me by phone or email and make an appointment to come by and see what I have.

New item is a kids placemat made with chalk fabric. They can write on their placemat and it wipes clean with a damp paper towel and is machine washable.  Pictures to come tomorrow.

So to all my faithful followers, friends and family I wish you all a Blessed Easter....Enjoy your day and everyday as if it is your last.
later.....joanna
